Hello, I’m Singaporient.

Hello! Welcome to my little space on the internet. “Singaporient” is a portmanteau of the words “Singapore” and “Orient”, an ode to both my birthplace and my heritage.

This blog will revolve around my parenting adventures in educating and bringing up three adorable children in sunny Singapore.

As an introduction, this is our family of five, and they will feature prominently in my stories 🙂

Pops

Pops is an engineer-of-sorts who works full time, but loves to cook for the little nuggets. He aspires to be a stay-at-home daddy one day when Poms earns enough to support him and the family.

In order to make ends meet, Pops currently works in a far-off country.

Poms

That’s me! Our little nuggets affectionately refer to daddy as Pops, and decided that correspondingly, I would be Poms. I am your regular run-of-the-mill office worker who often works long hours, and blogs during her commute to and from work. When I am not tearing her hair out trying to get my household in order, I like to read.

Dino Nugget

A largely sedentary boy about to enter the glorious teenage years. He has a particular fascination for all things Maths and Science, and does difficult puzzles for fun. He however, writes like a toddler, and brings grief to anyone who has to read his writing.

Milo Nugget

Three years younger than Dino Nugget, she is the complete opposite of him. She never picked up her big brother’s love for Maths and Science, and simple arithmetic confuse the wazoo out of her. She, however, has a passion for writing and drawing and surpasses the entire family in her usage of paper and notebooks for her many writing and drawing endeavours.

Milk Nugget

Five whole years younger than Milo Nugget and still at the feisty but adorable toddler stage, she is the queen of the family and she knows it. Everyone follows her orders and gives in to her. She likes to sidle up to Poms to complain about the antics of her older siblings. “Gorgor looked at me,” to her, is a valid accusation against her big brother, if he dares so much as glance at her when she is disrupting his work.

Thank you for stopping by!
